Children of all ages have many needs. However, one of the most important needs to fill is providing proper pediatric care in the form of well-child exams and routine immunizations. Dr. Dumbacher and Ng, of Oviedo Family Medicine Specialists can provide routine pediatric care, or well-child exams, for children age two and over living in the Oviedo and Winter Springs area. The cornerstone of this Oviedo-based family medicine practice is to promote the philosophy of growing healthy together—mind, body and spirit. And, most of us know that healthy habits are easiest to adopt, and maintain, during the formative years.

The primary care physicians at Oviedo Family Medicine Specialists follow the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics, along with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention when it comes to pediatric care for children age two and older.

Depending on the child’s age, lifestyle, personal beliefs and past medical history, the following might be performed and addressed during a routine well-child exam:

  • Blood Pressure
  • Blood Work
  • Exercise Plan
  • Eye Exam
  • Flu Vaccine
  • Healthy Diet Recommendations
  • Heart Rate
  • Height
  • Immunizations
  • Lab Work (check blood and urine for disorders or diseases)
  • Monitoring of developmental milestones
  • Monitoring of growth
  • STREP Test
  • Urinalysis
  • Weight
